What you don't know about jewelry.

    Diamonds

The first diamond was found 4000 years ago in a riverbed in the Golconda region of India.

A diamond as big as the moon was found in space and named Lucy, just to correspond to the Beatles' song Lucy in the sky with diamonds.

Diamonds and coal are both made of the same element, carbon, except that they have different spatial structures.

Diamonds are the hardest natural substance, and the only thing that can scratch a diamond is another diamond.

Eighty percent of the world's diamonds are not suitable for use as jewelry, but some are used in industry, while others may simply be discarded.

    Pearls

Pearls are most afraid of water. Although pearls have the reputation of being the "son of the sea", they are "most afraid" of water. When water enters the pearl's pores, not only is it difficult to wipe dry, but it also ferments in the pores, causing the pearl layer to detach. This damages the pearls, so do not wear any pearl jewelry, whether you are swimming, bathing or playing sports.

Black pearls are not too small in size, basically they are 9mm or more, black pearls below 8mm are very rare and almost non-existent, so if you come across very small black pearls they are almost always dyed.

Black pearls are not black, in fact they are not pure black.

Black pearls come in charcoal gray, silver gray, dark green, blue, and gray-black. Only a very few conch pearls may appear pure black, so if you see a pearl that is pure black, then it is probably dyed.

Natural pearls are those pearls that grow on their own in nature without any human intervention. These pearls are very rare and are mostly non-round in shape, with larger sizes being even rarer.

Cultured pearls are natural pearls, such as South Sea pearls, Tahitian pearls, Japanese akoya pearls, Edison pearls, etc. These pearls can be called cultured pearls. These pearls are grown in mother-of-pearl shells by professionals who implant the nucleus or coat and then return them to specific waters and seas. The result is a pearl with larger grains and a rounder shape.

    Gold

600 grams of gold can go around the earth. Gold is so malleable that it can go around the earth when 600 grams of gold is pulled into wire.

The human body contains about 0.2 milligrams of gold, and most of them are in the blood.

The gold medal of the Olympic Games contains only 1.34% gold, the gold content of the medal of the 2016 Rio Olympics is 1.2%, and the Nobel medal is solid 18-karat gold, weighing 175 grams.

    Le Cœur de la Mer

The "Heart of the Ocean" in "Titanic" is not a blue diamond, but a tanzanite.

    Jadeite

Why should I put a glass of water at the counter where I buy jadeite?

Because jadeite needs to replenish water, the crystalline water inside jadeite is not stable, it may decompose and evaporate under the heat or excessive light. Make the color of jadeite looks dull, not wet enough, which is the so-called running water. Put a glass of water, can increase the temperature inside the counter, do not let the jadeite "run water", especially the kind of tender jadeite, so that it looks more "wet" some, more light and better look.

    Hetian Jade

There is a broad and narrow definition of Hetian jade. In the narrow sense, Hetian jade refers to jade that is produced only in the Xinjiang Hotan region. The broad definition of Hotan jade includes not only Xinjiang Hotan jade, but also Russian jade, Qinghai jade, Canadian jade, Korean jade, and so on. So many of the Hetian jade on sale is not necessarily produced in Hotan, nor is it all white jade, but also jasper, ink jade, etc.

    Beeswax

Beeswax cannot be identified by the methods of needle scalding fragrance, salt water uplifting and internal texture.

    Coral

Corals are not named according to their color, but are distinguished according to their origin. Sardine coral, MoMo  coral and Aka coral three major species. And their places of origin are also different: Sardine mainly concentrated in the Mediterranean area near Italy, so when it comes to sardine coral that means the coral of Italian production area; MoMo coral mainly in the sea of eastern Taiwan as the main production area; the most famous Aka mainly grows in the sea of Japan and a small part of the sea of Taiwan (Pacific area).

If others and you say this coral is Aka color, it doesn't mean this must be Aka coral.

    Turquoise

American blue turquoise is not the injected turquoise, but the natural less iron wire turquoise, and the price is not expensive.
